This has been a busy year and many shifts are taking place for all of us on many levels. We would like to thank everyone who has given such wonderful feedback and support for the Phase-Eight website. There are many exciting things we have in the works this year and wanted to share some of those with you in this newsletter. Click on any blue words to access the live links.
Isometrics Video Update!
The long awaited (and then re-awaited) Isometrics video has been completed. After running into some glitches with the first filming of the video, Terri had to get back in the studio and re-shoot the film. The second filming took place in March and is ready for shipment. Click on the link below to see a short clip of the video.

Welcome Dr. Charlie Beck
He is offering classes that you will find listed under training info. We have included a letter from Dr. Beck introducing himself:
Greetings Everyone,
My name is Dr. Charlie Beck. I am an osteopath, currently doing my residency in NeuroMusculoskeletal Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. NMM is the “fancy” name for osteopathic manipulation. Osteopathic manipulation traces its roots to the foothills of Appalachia two centuries ago. The founder of osteopathy, Andrew Taylor Still, M.D., D.O. was born in Lee County, Virginia in 1828. Following a traumatic loss in his family after the Civil War, he embarked on a mission to improve the way medicine and surgery was practiced at the time. He discovered how the body is able to heal itself if all of its parts are working in unison. Categorizing his learning into principles, Still developed a system of working with the body he called osteopathy.
Its principles are:
(1) The body is a unit.
(2) Structure and function are reciprocally inter-related.
(3) The body possesses self-regulatory mechanisms.
(4) The body has the inherent capacity to defend and repair itself.
(5) When the normal adaptability is disrupted, or when environmental changes overcome the body’s capacity for self-maintenance, disease may ensue.
(6) The movement of body fluids is essential to the maintenance of health.
(7) The nerves play a crucial part in controlling the fluids of the body.
(8) There are somatic components to disease that are not only manifestations of disease, but also are factors that contribute to maintenance of the disease state.
The osteopathy that I know and love was built on these principles. I hope to be able to enrich the vision that Phase-Eight has set forth, “The principles of Ortho-Bionomy put into the practical application of life,” and to bring my knowledge and insight to the Ortho-Bionomy community. I look forward to meeting you in class.
Best Regards,
Charlie
Phase Eight Online Forum
We invite everyone to contribute and access the information on the Phase-Eight online forum. It is easy to look up topics and keep an ongoing dialogue. The vision of this forum is to encourage a cohesive and accessible alternative communication format for the Ortho-Bionomy community. The conversations about the topic are in one easy to find category. All of the entries for that topic are posted under the specific heading rather than opening many individual e-mails. One has the option to receive a notification when a reply is posted for that specific topic.
To Shift or Not to Shift
Some of you may already have read this article that is on the website or possibly from the ByRegion.net online newsletter. For those of you that haven’t read it yet, check it out, it has great information to help enrich your practice and client awareness. It helps to educate people about the necessity of regular ongoing sessions for the maintenance of our well being. You will find it under the heading “About Ortho-Bionomy.”
Enjoy your Spring!
