As you may have already seen on Phase Eight’s Instagram, I have spent my entire weekend watching shows, presentations and living the highs of London Fashion Week! When I first began my LFW prep, I didn’t realise the amount of work it entails to be accredited by the British Fashion Council, request show tickets, build fashionable and wearable outfits, book photographers and a hotel… the list goes on. But to be honest, it has all been worthwhile.
Maybe it’s because I’ve put a lot of time into the preparation, but this season I’ve actually had butterflies. Will I be able to walk in heels for the entire weekend? Can I get all the pictures that I need to blog about the catwalk shows? Will I have time to eat? Do I have enough juice to keep my iPhone alive so I can post Instagram stories?
Once I’d grabbed a coffee and attended my first show, none of these questions mattered as the inspiration from the catwalk, presentations and street style had me buzzing with delight.
My highlight was the Jasper Conran show. He presented his AW17 collection in the stunning Claridges ballroom. Jasper Conran reworked classic looks for his latest womenswear collection by presenting a clean-cut line of coats, skirts and dresses in bold khaki and colour blocking hues.
I also attended the Edeline Lee presentation at ON|OFF Oxo Tower, she focused her collection on the future lady by representing power, femininity, grace and dignity in each and every piece.
As you can see from my behind the scenes snaps, good food and a coffee fix was the best way to keep energy up as there wasn’t much time between shows. I was lucky to have booked my stay at St Martins Lane hotel, as this allowed me to be walking distance from the shows. I can’t wait to share more about this stunning location with you on my next blog takeover with Phase Eight. So watch this space!
