Alice Gingham Dress

Gorgeous gingham wrap dress which fits me really well as a large chested person although I did go up a size. My only problem with it is that it is lined with nylon so I'll have to change that to a viscose or cotton lining. Not sure why it isn't lined with cotton as it is a cotton dress.

I love gingham look and thought the dress shape would suit me. However, the top was too big and the wrap-over above the waist didn't work well at all. It wasn't secure, so any movement revealed my bra. It wasn't possible to increase the amount of wrap to prevent this happening.It might work better on a bigger busted woman who is happy to show some cleavage. I have recently lost weight so ordered a size 14, which is generally fitting me well now, but this didn't. I hadn't spotted that studio 8 is meant to be a plus size. I don't know how a size 14 in a plus size compares with a normal size 14, but I shan't order this brand again. I ordered a size 14 Phase 8 dress in the same order and that was a perfect fit. The material was a bit more dressy than I expected as I wanted this as an everyday summer dress, which this isn't. If it had look fabulous, I may have kept it anyway.

Good fit. Classy. Good material.

Great fit, lovely fabric and despite the “dry clean only” label it has washed well on the hand wash setting on my machine. I am a size 12 with 28GG bust and this is very flattering and doesn’t gape (unless I stretch too far!)
